This newsletter is written in order to spread experiences within the topic of ”historic textiles”. Our ambition is to amuse you and stimulate interest in the 18th Century. As permanent writers you will find Martin Ciszuk, MA in textile history and Laila Durán, who all work for the Durán Textiles AB company. We will also have help from colleagues and specialists from several museums and universities. This newsletter will be distributed ten times a year and is free of charge. We hope you will enjoy our articles and offers and help us to spread the letter to friends and colleagues.

Detta nyhetsbrev skrivs för att sprida erfarenheter inom ämnet ”historiska textiler” och 1700-talet. Ambitionen är att roa och stimulera intresset. Vi som skriver är Martin Ciszuk Fil.mag textilvetenskap, och Laila Durán, samtliga verksamma inom Durán Textiles AB. Till vår hjälp har vi kollegor och specialister från olika muséer och universitet.

Håndplagg – Handwear. A hundred ways to keep your hands warm.

Since two years Durán Textiles has a close cooperation with the Norwegian magazine BUNAD and its chief editor Heidi Fossnes. The magazine is a periodical directed to everybody who is interested in regional costume, bunad in Norwegian, and textile craft. Besides the magazine, which is sent out four times every year, Heidi Fossnes has written the book ”Håndplagg”. She has brought forth a treasure of hand wear in colored wool from museum collection, together with meticulous descriptions of the old techniques. With the help of crochet hook, knitting pins and embroidery needles traditional accessories for regional costumes could be worked out. – hundra sätt att värma dina händer.

Sedan två år tillbaka har Durán Textiles ett nära samarbete med norska Magasinet BUNAD och dennes chefredaktör Heidi Fossnes. Magasinet är ett specialmagasin för alla som är intresserade av folkdräkter, bunader som det heter i Norge, och textila hantverk. Förutom magasinet som utkommer fyra gånger pr år har Heidi Fossnes skrivit boken ”Håndplagg”. Från museernas magasin har hon tagit fram en kulturskatt i färgglad ull och noggrant beskrivit de gamla teknikerna. Med virknål, stickor och brodernål arbetas traditionella tillbehör till gamla dräkter fram. Här finns beskrivet över 100 olika plagg att värma händerna med under kalla vintermånader ...

Scandinavian regional costumes in
The BUNAD Magazine.

The magazine BUNAD has been given out during six years. Recently the editorial committee has decided to cross the borders of Norway and publish articles about regional costumes and reconstructions also from Sweden and Denmark. In the last two magazines there have been visits to Skansen, the ethnographical outdoor museum in Stockholm, one with a traditional 19th century child baptism in Seglora church, and in the latest edition there has been photos of costumes and costume silver form Skåne, southern Sweden, taken at Skånegården, the farm hose from this region.

Skandinavisk dräkt

Magasinet BUNAD har givits ut under sex år. Nu har redaktionen tagit steget över till att gå utanför Norges gränser och har även artiklar om dräkter och rekonstruktionsarbete både i Sverige och i Danmark. I de två senaste numren har vi besökt Skansen, först med traditionellt barndop från 1800-talet som förrättades i Seglora kyrka och i senaste numret visas bilder på skånska dräkter och dräktsilver fotograferade i Skånegården.
